What is an Osteopath?Osteopathy is recognised as a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of painful disorders. It helps restore the function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and ligaments) The aim is to relieve pain and get you going again as quickly as possible. The treatment is tailored to suit patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly.
Osteopaths are strictly regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and are required to renew their registration each year. As part of this process, the GOsC checks that osteopaths remain in good health and of good character, and have met mandatory continuing professional development requirements to maintain high standards of competency, conduct and safety.
The TreatmentOsteopathic treament consists of gentle manipulation and stretching of the muscles, ligaments and joints. Treatment is not painful and rarely uncomfortable.
