Daniel Bailey - osteopath

Daniel Bailey

MSc, PgC, BSc (Hons), DO, ND.

I graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002 with a first class honours degree in osteopathic medicine.  The majority of my clinical work is treating people with pain, this can be anywhere in the body and for any reason. Since becoming an osteopath I have completed a master's degree in neuro-musculoskeletal healthcare with the physiotherapy department at Keele University.  A large proportion of this involved working with specialists in sports injuries from around the world.  With new interest and expertise in this field, I began to see more and more athletes as patients at City Osteopaths.  I was then approached by the head of the medical department at Wolverhampton Wanderers to see if I would have some input on the management of one of their players.  This eventually turned into a regular arrangement, and I worked with the club on a weekly basis for 5 years and still regularly consult for them.  I have taught at universities throughout the country and have a post graduate certificate in education.  I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the University College of Osteopathy in London, the largest osteopathy school in Europe.  I am a Doctoral researcher at Keele University investigating exercise rehabilitation in musculoskeletal pain and have published several journal articles (see links below) and presented my work nationally.  In April 2020, I was appointed as a registrant member to the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), one of nine healthcare regulators in the UK. This role involves setting strategy and policy to ensure the GOsC fulfils its statutory duties to regulate standards of osteopathic care in the UK.
