Osteopathy Today FONT FACE=Verdana >Osteopathy is recognised as an effective treatment for a wide range of painful disorders. It works by helping to restore the function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and ligaments). The aim is to relieve pain and get you going again as quickly as possible. Treatment is tailored to suit the individual.
In my practice I enjoy helping people of all ages overcome the stresses and strains of modern-day living. My special interests include rehabilitation of neuro-muscular function after injury or trauma, and treating work-related / repetitive-type strains. I have taken post-graduate courses in both of these areas, as well as in the subtle but effective techniques of cranial osteopathy. The cranial approach can be helpful in a wide range of conditions, and is particularly beneficial when treating babies and children.
The TreatmentOsteopathic treament consists of gentle manipulation and stretching of the muscles, ligaments and joints. Treatment is not painful and rarely uncomfortable.
Conditions treated by Osteopaths Osteopathic treatment can help many musculoskeletal conditions. These include the common aches and pains due to strains, falls and overuse, as well as the more long-term back and neck probems. It can often alleviate the problems associated with stress and tension including chronic headaches.
