FONT color=#4169E1>Osteopathy is now recognised as an effective treatment for a wide range of painful disorders. It helps restore the function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and ligaments) The aim is to relieve pain and get you going again as quickly as possible. Patients of all ages can obtain benefit. The treatment is tailored to suit.

I have 30 years experience using Cranial Osteopathy and also an international post graduate lecturer in Cranial Osteopathy. Cranial Osteopathy is very gentle & is excellent when treating babies and children, for migraine headaches and for very painful conditions.

The Treatment

Types of osteopathic treament varies considerably. I mainly use the very gentle Cranial Osteopathy approach. I find that this method allows me to get greater understanding of the underlying reasons for your condition in addition to being a highly effective way of reducing pain and discomfort. Cranial osteopathy is an approach applied to the whole body not just the head. Consequently it is very good for acute pains in the neck or lower back or other areas of the body also.

Babies with colic or excessive crying have been found to benefit highly from Cranial Osteopathy and babies are a significant proportion of my patient profile.

Anxiety, mild depression and other stress states can be helped by Cranial Osteopathy as this helps the circulation to the brain and also releases tensions in the tissues of the head.

Conditions treated by Osteopaths

Osteopathic treatment can help many musculoskeletal conditions. These include the common aches and pains due to strains, falls and overuse, as well as the more long-term back and neck probems. It can often alleviate the problems associated with stress and tension including chronic headaches.

Women with non-specific menstrual pain often find that osteopathic treatment can ease their discomfort in the spine or pelvis.

Children who are hyperactive tend to become calmer and have greater attention span with Cranial Osteopathy, and it can help bedwetting children also.

Adults and the elderly with degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis circulatory problems, effects of operations, effects of falls & accidents, postural issues can get significant relief. Osteopathy is also very good for general health improvement if you feel low or run down, lacking in vitality.
