I am a registered osteopath and qualified lecturer with a masters degree in sport injury medicine and an honours degree in osteopathy. I am is a director of The Carl Todd Clinic and practise at my Corsham, Swindon and Ridgeway clinics. My professional memberships include the General Osteopathic Council, British Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Sports Care Association, British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine, British Medical Acupuncture Society, National Strength and Conditioning Association and The League Medical Association. I am currently undertaking a PhD programme with the Department of Orthopaedics, University of Gothenburg, Sweden researching the effect of hip impingement on low back pain. In 2005 I became the first osteopath to be appointed by the Football Association and work with the England Football team. To date, I have worked over one hundred international games and attended three FIFA World Cup tournaments, Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014; UEFA European Championships Poland & Ukraine 2012. I have been consultant osteopath to Chelsea Football Club since 2008 working as part of the medical support for the first team players in all competitions. I have carried out consultancy roles for the England Cricket Board, Team GB male and female Basketball at the London 2012 Olympics and many other clubs including; Real Madrid, IFK Gothenburg, Manchester United FC, Manchester City FC, Liverpool FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Portsmouth FC, West Bromich Albion FC, and Worcestershire County Cricket Club. From 2006- 2008 I worked as part of the medical team at Honda UK. My clinical experience with both elite and amateur level athletes has led me to develop my own unique style of integrated osteopathy, encompassing biomechanical, functional and structural models for patient management and re-education, specialising in functional movement patterns and corrective exercise. I lecture regularly at medical conferences both nationally and internationally on the subject of sports injury management, and am an associate lecturer for the School of Healthcare at Oxford Brookes University, and for the physiotherapy continued professional development programme at the English Institute of Sport.
