Osteopathy Today

FONT FACE=Arial color=#800080>Osteopathy is now recognised as an effective treatment for a wide range of painful disorders. It helps restore the function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and ligaments) The aim is to relieve pain and get you going again as quickly as possible. Patients of all ages can obtain benefit - I treat infants to 100 years olds! The treatment is tailored to suit each individual.

The Treatment

Traditional osteopathic treatment consists of gentle manipulation and stretching of the muscles, ligaments and joints. Treatment is not painful and rarely uncomfortable. Advice is frequently given during the treatment about exercise, diet and nutrition, lifestyle, posture etc.

Cranio-sacral osteopathic treatment is given where more vigorous techniques are less applicable, for instance in the case of babies and children and the elderly; although I usually combine my various treatment modalities. Whatever treatment suits the patient at that time because Your health is My Priority!

Conditions treated by Osteopaths

Osteopathic treatment can help many musculoskeletal conditions. These include the common aches and pains due to strains, falls and overuse, as well as the more long-term back and neck probems. It can often alleviate the problems associated with stress and tension including chronic headaches.

Osteopathy is for all of you

My particular osteopathic interests are the treatment of babies and children, women from conception, pregnancy and childbirth and dental and facial development. But as I have a practice of great breadth and scope, like the original osteopaths I treat a very wide range of patients.

The following is a list of some problems treated by osteopaths. The list is by no means complete and if you have any queries, please telephone for further advice. I offer a free 10 minute consultation, usually by phone, to assess whether osteopathic treatment may be suitable for you, or if another therapy may be more appropriate.

Tinnitus, Neckache, Frozen or stiff shoulders, Wrist pain, Incontinence, Bladder problems, Recurrent infections, Hip, thigh and knee problems, Calf and shin problems, Whiplash injuries

Sinusitis, Neck ache, Tennis elbow and arm pain, Back pain, Disc problems, Aches and pains in pregnancy, Pelvic pain, Arthritic pain and stiffness, Foot problems, Jaw and dental problems.

For further information please contact me at either clinic and I will be happy to help you and your family in whatever way I can.

Remember - YOUR health is MY priority!.
