HEALTH IN HAND - Osteopathy for :

Michelle Henfrey MSc DO

GOsC Registered Osteopath

I have worked in private clinics treating all ages for many years. In addition, for three years I was a clinic tutor at the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine.

I use a variety of treatment techniques, making treatments very individual.

1 am BUPA and PPP registered.

Not all osteopaths treat animals. I have trained at the Centre for Animal Osteopathy in Berkshire and work mainly with horses and dogs.

Some common manifestations of biomechanical problems in horses that may benefit from osteopathy are:

. won't bend as easily on 1 rein as the other

. avoiding the bit or not flexing at the poll

. rearing to avoid the bit

. bucking

. extreme sensitivity at the poll or withers.

The Treatment

Osteopathic treament consists of gentle manipulation and stretching of the muscles, ligaments and joints. Treatment is not painful and rarely uncomfortable.

Conditions treated by Osteopaths

Osteopathic treatment can help many musculoskeletal conditions. These include the common aches and pains due to strains, falls and overuse, as well as the more long-term back and neck probems. It can often alleviate the problems associated with stress and tension including chronic headaches.

Osteopathy is for all of you

The following is a list of some problems treated by osteopaths. The list is by no means complete and if you have any queries, please telephone for further advice.
