So how can Osteopathy help me?

FONT FACE=Tohoma size=4 >Osteopathy is now recognised as an effective treatment for a wide range of painful disorders. It helps restore the function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and ligaments) The aim is to relieve pain and get you going again as quickly as possible. Patients of all ages can obtain benefit and all treatments are tailored to suit each patient individually.

Osteopathic treament takes many forms and depends largely on the needs of the individual.

Some consist of gentle joint manipulation & muscle stretching, whilst others involve treatment of the organs in a more direct way by sensitively examining and treating the required area; the abdomen for example.

Cranio-sacral therapy is also an accepted form of treatment that has been used by many osteopaths since as early as the 1930's for the treatment of all manner of conditions and is favoured by many for its gentle nature. /FONT>

What to expect from your first consultation

In order to provide you with the best possible care then your first consultation will last up to one hour.

The lengthy consultation is necessary so that there is plenty of time for me to take a full history of your presenting complaint, as well as your past and current medical history.

Then, you will be asked to undress the necessary area so that it can be examined, a diagnosis formed and the appropriate treatment can be administered.

In view of the points raised above it is recommended that you come dressed in suitable underwear.

Remember, if you have any questions at all, or are in any doubt as to the validity of Osteopathic treatment in relation to your pain or your current medical condition then call Philip Wise, the pain management specialist of Kent for more information on 07984 007459.
