Osteopathy Today
Osteopathy is now recognised as an effective treatment for a wide range of painful disorders. It helps restore the function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and ligaments); The aim is to relieve pain and get you going again as quickly as possible. Patients of all ages can obtain benefit. The treatment is tailored to suit. Louise North qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 2005 and completed a 2 year masters degree in paediatric osteopathy in 2008, specialising in the treatment of children and pregnant women.
The Treatment
Osteopathic treament consists of gentle manipulation and stretching of the muscles, ligaments and joints. Treatment is not painful and rarely uncomfortable. As an osteopath we would take a detailed case history from you asking questions about the pain, location and how it may have started. Also some questions about your general health and previous medical history to help us obtain a complete
picture to help us create a treatment and management plan for each individual
patient.
Treatment of babies is very gentle and non invasive and uses palpation techniques to feel any strains or stresses that may remain following a difficult birth/delivery or problems experienced during the pregnancy.
We aim to provide treatment for the whole family from postural and work problems, sports injuries and the young and elderly.
