Perry & Anthea work with three associate osteopaths; Dr Hasnain Chandoo, BCNO ('01), Michael Oldfield, LSO ('06) and our new associate, Kirsty Bonar a recent graduate of the BSO. All are fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council. br>
The practice has excellent relationships with local GPs and consultants. When appropriate we can arrange referrals, MRI scanning and other medical investigations. br>
As a private practice, fees are charged for appointments. These may be recovered under many private health insurance schemes. If you intend to claim your fees, please check with your insurer before commencing treatments /FONT>
Osteopathy can help in a wide range of problems, both new and longstanding. We often treat back and neck pain, sciatica, sports injuries, shoulder tension and headaches, muscle sprains and ligament strains, elbow, wrist, knee, ankle and foot pain. A wide range of other conditions respond well; please call us to discuss the suitability of osteopathy for treatment of your complaint.
Advice is given on rehabilitation exercises and training regimes and we will supply orthotics, supports, heel lifts, hot/cold packs, supplements, pillows, muscle rubs etc, as appropriate.
You will probably be asked to undress to your underwear and the problem area will be considered in the context of your whole body. By observing your posture, muscle balance and movements and performing simple clinical screening tests, a diagnosis can be made and a treatment plan proposed. Treatment is included in the initial session, if appropriate.
In the 24-72 hours after treatment it is quite normal for patients to experience a 'treatment reaction'; usually a soreness or achiness not dissimilar to that experienced following unusual physical exertion, or it may leave the patient feeling tired or generally 'below-par'. Gentle activity, fluids and warmth is usually all that is required.
Please contact the Practice if you are concerned.
